One reason I think Coach liked Logan more than anyone else is because Logan always listened. Freshman year, we had a meet at Catalina Foothills and Logan was racing in the opening event- the 4x800m relay. I remember Coach telling Logan to be smart and not go out for too fast (to assure a strong finish). I think I ran the first leg and handed off the baton about 4 seconds behind my competitor. Now, I can't say I know what kind of time Logan was capable of running that day, but I do know that he could have ran a mile at a pace faster than he was running that half-mile. We ended up almost getting lapped that day, ya know, I never saw a team get lapped until three years later when we had a power 4x800 and everyone else sucked. I think this was the day that he decided to break out the L-train side of him on the track. But more importantly, it became the first of many great Logan moments that you could bring up to him in the future and he would just respond with shaking his head and saying, "Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking.:
